EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics learned on Tuesday that it has earned honorable mention in the National Associate of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) 2016 Marketing Team of the Year Award (MTOYA) competition.

The selection committee was made up of NACMA Past Presidents, as well as two National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Past Presidents.
Now in its fifth year, the nominations for the MTOYA spanned across FBS, FCS, and Division I-AAA institutions. The award was created to show the type of impact that a marketing team has not only on the athletics department, but the campus and surrounding communities as well.
"The goal of the Marketing Team of the Year Award is to highlight the tremendous work being done by our members, and once again this year we were impressed with the breadth of their accomplishments," said NACMA President
Becky Parke, who is also the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing at Arizona State University. "The selection process for this award is incredibly difficult and all of the nominees should be proud of their achievements."
