Ricky Brockway, former men's basketball player
Mire Chatman, former women's track & field athlete
Tonya (Bailey) Garcia, former women's basketball player
Alex Gravel, and former women's tennis player
Leah (Viloria) Hampton. The committee also announced that major supporters
Dan and Terry Martinez have earned induction into the Hall of Honor.
The Athletics Hall of Fame induction luncheon will take place in the UTRGV Ballroom on Sat., Feb. 24 at 11 a.m.

1975 Baseball Team
Posted the highest winning percentage (.900) in program history by going 63-7, the second-highest win total in program history and the third lowest loss total (lowest in seasons of at least 20 games) in program history … Advanced to NCAA South Central Regionals, going 2-2 and finishing runner-up to Texas … Team got off to 21-2 start, including program record 20-straight wins at the end of that start … Top four starting pitchers, Rod Edquist, Jesse Trinidad, Jim Proctor and Jack Ewing, three position players Ricky Brockway, Bobby Rutledge and Tommy Simpson, head coach Al Ogletree, and assistant coach Reggie Tredaway are all in the Hall of Fame.

"Induction into the Hall of Fame means a lot to me," Chatman said. "It's an honor to be with such a special group of players who have played at this university. I'm blessed to be rewarded for all the hard work that the team and I put in. Without the team, we wouldn't have won all those games like we did. We had a special group of players who put team ball first and it paid off for us."
Tonya (Bailey) Garcia, Women's Track & Field, 1990-93
Outdoor track & field program record holder in the long jump with a mark of 20' 1.75" in 1993 … Made second longest triple jump in program history with a distance of 40' 7.5" in 1993 … Helped set what was then a program record (now fourth) in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 48.03 in 1991 … Set what was then an indoor track & field: program record (now second) in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.51 … Ranks second all-time in the long jump with a mark of 18' 10.5" … Ran third fastest 60-meter dash in program history with time of 7.87 in 1992 … Recorded fourth longest triple jump in program history with mark of 38' 7.75".
"I am so honored and touched to be included among such great athletes like those who have gone before me," Garcia said. "I am blessed to have had the life-changing experience of Division I collegiate competition here. I will forever be part of the university."
Alex Gravel, Women's Basketball, 1998-03
Earned All-Independent First Team honors in 2002-03 and Second Team honors in 2000-01 and 1999-00 … Department Female Student-Athlete of the Year in 1999-00 … Held program record in scoring for nine years and currently ranks third with 1,227 points … Holds program records for career three-pointers (258), three-point shooting percentage (.366) and free throw shooting percentage (.827) … Ranks sixth all-time in field goals made (396), and tied for seventh in free throws made (177) and steals (145) … Holds program record for three-point shooting in a single season (.426 in 2002-03) while also ranking eighth (.367 in 2000-01) … Holds program record for free throw percentage in a single season (.892 in 2000-01) and three-pointers made in a game (9 vs. Texas State, 12/22/99) … Has three of the top six three-pointer totals for a single season with 76 in 1999-00 (second), 75 in 2002-03 (third), and 65 in 2000-01 (sixth).
"I grew up in a small French town in the northern part of Quebec, Canada, and I always dreamed of playing Division I basketball in the United States," Gravel said. "When only a handful of people thought I could do it, I worked harder and I realized my dream. I gave my whole heart and everything I had in me to this basketball program and it's the greatest honor to be recognized for what I've accomplished."
Leah (Viloria) Hampton, Women's Tennis, 1987-91
Program record holder in overall career wins (109) … Graduated as program record holder for career singles wins (64, now ranks second) … Graduated ranked third in career doubles wins (45, now ranks fifth) … 1989-90 Academic All-American South honoree.
"Being inducted into the Hall of Fame comes as an unexpected surprise," Hampton said. "I am grateful, honored and humbled to be recognized among accomplished student-athletes that represented my alma mater."

Dan and Terry Martinez
Made planned donation of first seven-figure gift in program history ($1 million) in June … Founding members of the Champions Club … Long-time supporters of athletics … Dan is a Pan American University graduate (1978) while Terry started her academic career at Pan Am … Both are Rio Grande Valley natives who are now active in the Houston-area alumni association.
