Final Results

CORPUS CHRISTI– Junior Michelle Moroles posted a final round 75 to finish tied for ninth at the Islander Classic to lead The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) women's golf team on Tuesday at Corpus Christi Country Club.
 
Moroles improved by six shots to post the team's best final round score as she finished with a three-round score of 229. Junior Emma Mesta finished tied for 14^th with a three-round score of 232 after posting a final round 80.
 
Senior Jessica Young posted a final round 77 to finish in 17^th place with a three-round score of 233. Sophomore Tilda Green finished with a three-round score of 239 after shooting a final round 81 to finish tied for 23^rd.
 
Junior Shweta Mansingh finished tied for 35^th after posting a final round 85 for a three-round score of 242. Freshman Briana Garza finished tied for 23^rd with a three-round score of 239 after posting a final round 84 while sophomore Rachel Yu finished tied for 48^th with a three-round score of 248 after a final round 84.
 
Sam Houston State's Hannah Alberto won the individual title with a three-round score of 216 after a final round 71.
 
As a team, UTRGV finished in fifth place with a three-round score of 928 after posting a final round 313. St. Mary's held on to the top spot with a three-round score of 913 after a final round 310. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi finished in third place, which gives them two points in the South Texas Showdown, presented by Navy Army Community Credit Union. UTRGV still leads the showdown 18.5 points to 16.5 points. 
 
UTRGV will be back in action from March 5-6 when it hosts the UTRGV Invitational at McAllen Country Club.
