Located on the northwest corner of campus, UTRGV Baseball Stadium opened its gates in 2001 as Edinburg Baseball Stadium. UTRGV began playing at the Stadium in 2002. Its dimensions of 325-380-410-380-325 allow for a spacious outfield and a pitcher friendly environment on natural grass.

UTRGV Athletics completed $4 million of upgrades over a three-year period to UTRGV Baseball Stadium prior to the 2025 season. 

UTRGV Baseball Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 5,000 including 13 corrals and 10 suites, has regularly hosted capacity crowds over the last few years, ranking 30th in NCAA Division I in average attendance in 2025 (3,164 per game). UTRGV welcomed four of the seven largest crowds in program history, with six crowds above 6,000, including a program record 6,537 for a game against Stephen F. Austin (4/12/25).

Prior to the 2024 season, UTRGV launched the home plate club, a premium area that includes mesh seats, a drink rail, and wait service right behind home plate. Due to overwhelming demand, UTRGV is doubling the size of the home plate club for the 2025 season.

UTRGV also put in brand new walls around the stadium before the 2024 season, including new padding all around the field and a new brick backstop. UTRGV also replaced all of the chairback seats.

Prior to the 2023 season, UTRGV unveiled an upgraded home clubhouse:
 

The stadium features 10 luxury suites that come fully equipped with air conditioning, TVs, kitchen appliances, refrigerators, an entertainment lounge, and 20 VIP seats. There is also features a corral beyond the right field wall, which features decks and grills that fans can purchase for the entire season.
 


The corrals were a new feature installed in 2020 with eight party decks featuring 10 spots each. Five more were added in 2022 for a total of 13 corrals in right field.
 


Other upgrades to the stadium in 2020 included new padding on the outfield walls with an enhanced way of promoting sponsors, stairs in the stands that were painted orange, and a new covered batting cage for the student-athletes.

A new scoreboard and video board were installed in 2016. The video board measures 17.8'x13.6'. In 2015, new installations included a new irrigation system, new dugout fencing, new outfield walls, and new padding behind home plate.

Coach Al and Joann Ogletree PlazaOgletree Plaza

The Coach Al and Joann Ogletree Plaza opened Feb. 24, 2017 and features a statue of the late legendary head coach Al Ogletree and his late wife of 62 years, Joann.

Ogletree Plaza honors Ogletree, known affectionately by all as “Coach Al,” and Joann for their commitment, dedication and investment in the baseball program, athletic department, university and community at large.

In 29 years as the head coach of the baseball team from 1968-97, Coach Al compiled a record of 1,084-618-1 (.637) while leading the team to 13 NCAA Regionals and one College World Series. He retired in 1997 with 1,217 career wins, and currently stands as the 35th winningest coach in NCAA history.

In addition to caring for their five children, Joann mentored many young couples while serving as a matriarch for the baseball team.

The Ogletrees founded the Al and Joann Ogletree Scholarship Endowment, which is comprised of over 130 donors. The impact of this remarkable couple will last forever.
