EleVate
Inspired by the growth and innovation of the Rio Grande Valley, it is our goal to EleVate the standard of Division I Athletics to proudly represent our university in competition, in the classroom, and in the community.
 
We adopted six power words that represent the building blocks of our brand – BelieVe, AchieVe, DriVe, ThriVe, InVest, and Victory. If we are able to focus on these key areas, will be able to EleVate both as a university, and as a region to reach new heights.
 
We encourage fans to EleVate with us by adopting these power words as a part of their everyday lives. While these words may be interpreted and applied differently, here is what they mean to us:

BelieVe: We believe in our mission, vision, and core values, which embody the spirit of the Vaqueros.


AchieVe: We will achieve our financial goals to enhance the student-athlete and fan experience, and prepare our student-athletes for excellence in life.


ThriVe: We will thrive in the classroom, and in the community to become contributing members of society.


DriVe: We are driven to be the most competitive institution in the Western Athletic Conference to proudly represent the Rio Grande Valley.


InVest: We will invest our time, energy, and faith in one another to match the advancement of the Rio Grande Valley.


Victory: Victory comes when we succeed in our pursuit of excellence.
