EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics unveiled on Wednesday its 2016 baseball promotional schedule, featuring exciting offers and themed nights for 17 of the 29 home games.

Friday, March 11 – Safety on Pre-Spring BreakBaseball vs. Arlington Baptist, 7 p.m. For the last game before spring break, UTRGV Athletics is partnering with local organizations to provide fans with information about public and personal safety while vacationing. The first 100 fans in attendance will receive a free UTRGV water bottle.
Tuesday, March 15 – $2 Tuesday/Spring Break StaycationBaseball Doubleheader vs. Texas A&M Corpus Christi, 2 p.m. Staying in the Rio Grande Valley during spring break? Then join UTRGV Baseball for $2 Tuesday, including $2 general admission tickets and concession stand items for $2 or less.
Thursday, March 17 – St. Patrick's DayBaseball vs. Jackson State, 7 p.m. The first 150 fans in attendance will receive a free, green koozie. Additionally, fans 21 and older will be able to enjoy green craft beer samples as they watch the Vaqueros begin a three-game series against Jackson State. .
Saturday, March 19 – Kids Day/Strike Out HungerBaseball vs. Jackson State, 1 p.m. The first 50 children in attendance 13 years or younger, will receive a free UTRGV baseball t-shirt. Youth who attend this game may also enjoy free frozen treats and a kids play zone.
Additionally, fans that donate four non-perishable food items at the ticket office will receive free general admission to the game.
All food donations benefit the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley.
It is estimated that one in four people in the Rio Grande Valley are food insecure, meaning they skip meals and/or buy less nutritional foods due to financial struggles. It is also estimated that half of children in the Rio Grande Valley go to bed hungry.
Tuesday, March 22 – $2 Tuesday/Greek NightBaseball vs. Texas State, 6 p.m. Calling all UTRGV sororities and fraternities, its time to get crazy and loud! Join UTRGV Baseball for Greek Week, and show off your organization's spirit and pride. More details are coming soon.
All fans can take advantage of discounted prices for $2 Tuesday. General admission tickets and concession stand items will be $2 or less.
Additionally, the first 150 fans in attendance will receive a free koozie.
Friday, April 1 – Mystery Giveaway NightBaseball vs. New Mexico State, 7 p.m. In light of April Fools Day, the first 100 fans in attendance will receive a free mystery item. Clues as to what the mystery giveaway item is will be disclosed on the official Instagram account of UTRGV Athletics,
@GoUTRGV.
Fans will have the opportunity to win higher-level mystery prizes throughout the game by participating in Twitter Trivia and an Instagram scavenger hunt.
Sunday, April 3 – Strike Out HungerBaseball vs. New Mexico State, 12 p.m. Fans that donate four non-perishable food items at the ticket office will receive free general admission to the game.

Tuesday, April 5 – $2 TuesdayBaseball vs. Incarnate Word, 6:30 p.m. Fans can take advantage of discounted prices for $2 Tuesday. General admission tickets and concession stand items will be $2 or less.
Friday, April 15 – Pride in the ParkBaseball vs. North Dakota, 7 p.m. Information will be provided by local LGBT non-profit organizations to help raise awareness and support for the LGBT community.

Saturday, April 16 – Selena NightBaseball vs. North Dakota, 6 p.m. Join us as we celebrate the legacy of Tejano super star Selena Quintanilla Perez. Fans can look forward to a night filled with Selena music, videos, trivia questions, and more!
Sunday, April 17 – Strike Out HungerBaseball vs. North Dakota, 12 p.m. Fans that donate four non-perishable food items at the ticket office will receive free general admission to the game.

Friday, April 22 – Earth DayBaseball vs. Sacramento State, 7 p.m. In celebration of Earth Day, UTRGV Baseball is partnering with the Environmental Awareness Club to host a "Trashion Show" in which participants will design clothing made of 90% recyclable materials.
Fans that donate five empty plastic bottles will receive discounted $5 tickets to the game.
The first 150 fans in attendance will receive a reusable tote bag made of 100% recyclable materials.
Saturday, April 23 – Family Day Baseball vs. Sacramento State, 6 p.m. UTRGV Baseball is offering $5 discounted tickets for parents of currently enrolled UTRGV students. Parents must be accompanied by their child. Enrolled UTRGV students receive free general admission to athletic events with a valid student ID.
Additionally, the UTRGV Parent and Family Association will host a pregame picnic inside the ballpark, with family oriented information and festivities. To register for the picnic, send an email to

Friday, May 20 – Aydan's Angels Toy DriveBaseball vs. Grand Canyon University, 6 p.m. Fans who donate a new, unwrapped children's toy to benefit Aydan's Angels will receive free general admission to this game.
Aydan's Angels was started by Amanda Brewer in loving memory of her late son. It is a non-profit organization to collect children's toys to donate to local hospitals, the Ronald McDonald House, and the Family Crisis Center.
Saturday, May 21 – Senior DayBaseball vs. Grand Canyon University, 12 p.m. Join UTRGV Baseball as for a special pregame ceremony to recognize the outgoing senior class of
