The University of Texas-Pan American women's volleyball team dropped its fourth straight contest in straight sets (30-26, 30-23, 30-27) on the road at Sam Houston State on Friday (Oct. 1).

For the Lady Bearkats, Chrissy Engle recorded a team-high 11 kills while Alisha Fowler collected 10 kills along with six total blocks. Jennifer Henrichsen finished the match with seven kills and 11 digs, and Emily Orlowski notched 10 digs.

Sophomore Heather Bravo (Las Vegas, NV/Durango H.S.) picked up a team-high 11 kills along with eight digs while Chrissie Carrigan (Victoria, British Columbia, Canada/Mount Douglas S.S.) finished with seven kills and 11 digs. Jen Dameworth (El Paso, TX/Franklin H.S.) quarterbacked the Lady Broncs' offense as the UTPA sophomore dished out 26 assists while collecting eight digs and two service aces.

Carol Marcengo (Curitiba, Brazil/SPEI H.S.), who came into the match ranked fifth in the nation in digs per game, collected a match-high 18 digs. It was the 13th match of the season that Marcengo has racked up a double-digit dig performance.

The Lady Broncs will be back in action on Wednesday (Oct. 6) at Texas A&M - Corpus Christi.
