The University of Texas-Pan American women's volleyball team took the court for its final home performance on Saturday (Nov. 6) at the UTPA Fieldhouse, but fell short of the victory.  The Lady Broncs dropped 0-3 to North Dakota State (30-24, 30-27, 30-21).
	In her final efforts at home this season, senior Cathi Netemeyer (Los Fresno, TS/University of Iowa) led the Lady Broncs offensively recording 13 kills in 27 attempts.  She is currently fourth on the team in kills this season with 153.
The Lady Broncs were looking for a strong performance from senior Winker Cruiz (Harlingen, TX/Harlingen South H.S.). However in her 30 attempts, the UTPA outside hitter was only able to convert on seven due to the strong defensive net play of the Bison, who finished the contest with 8.0 blocks.
In game one, UTPA suffered the loss due to the low hitting percentage of .116 followed by hitting percentages of .260 and .133 in games two and three. UTPA's overall hitting percentage of .174seemed to seal the victory for the Bison.
Emily Luensmann quarterbacked the offense for the NDS, recording a 38 assists, while Sheila Parrish recorded a match-high 18 kills and notched 11 digs.
Danielle Holthe (Covina, CA/Bishop Amat Memorial) added nine digs for the Lady Broncs while teammate Carol Marcengo (Curitiba, Brazil/SEPI H.S.) collected a match-high 22 digs and notched one service ace.  Marcengo leads the Lady Broncs with 488 digs on the season.  Karen Lyons (McAllen, TX/McAllen Memorial) dished out 26 assists, moving her to a team-high 637 assists.
With the loss, UTPA falls to 10-17 and will prepare for play at the LaQuinta Independent Championships on Nov.11-13 at Utah Valley State.
