Beaumont, Texas - Lamar (4-2) scored five runs in the last two innings to rally for a 6-4 win over Texas-Pan American (5-5) today.

Lamar opened the scoring as Brett Winn singled to drive in Jeremy Gray in the first inning to make it 1-0. In the third inning, the Broncs tied the game as Louie Alamia (So./Edinburg, Texas/Edinburg North HS) doubled to score Ricky Broyles (Jr./Longview, Texas/Northeast Texas CC). In the fourth inning, Matt Sisk (Sr./Fort Worth, Texas/Arlington Heights HS) hit the first home run of the season for UTPA to make it 2-1.

In the fifth inning, Broyles grounded out to drive in Alfred Padron (Jr./Pasadena, Texas/Alvin CC). In the eighth inning, a ground out by Matt Eichel (Jr./Grapevine, Texas/Grapevine HS) drove in Alamia to make it 4-1. Lamar came back in the bottom of the eighth with a two run homer by Ryan Finan. In the ninth with one out, Jordan Foster hit a three run home run to win the game for Lamar.

Broyles picked up his first defeat of the season while Alamia was 2-for-4 with one run and drove in one run. Tommy Sorden (Sr./Austin, Texas/Navarro College) pitched a fine game but could not gain the decision. He gave up seven hits, one run and struck out a batter in six and two-third innings.

The Broncs will take on Texas A&M-Kingsville, Wednesday, February 18. The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday. It is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
