The University of Texas - Pan American men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision in Southland Conference play against Texas A&M - Corpus Christi on Sunday (Feb. 13) at the King's Crossing Country Club in Corpus Christi, TX.

UTPA's Nik Porter (Tunbridge Wells, England/Bennett Memorial School) and Alejandro Pacheco Jr. (McAllen, TX/McAllen Memorial H.S.) battled in the second slot of doubles play before falling 8-4 to TAMUCC's Goncalo Figueiredo and Andrey Kumantsov.

After losing the doubles point, the team suffered defeats in all single matches. Jeremy Salvo (Conquitlam, B.C., Canada/Centennial Secondary) played in the number one singles spot and was defeated in straight sets by the Islander's Raul Morant-Rivas, 6-1 and 6-3. Playing number five singles for the Broncs was Pacheco who faced David Plasencia. After dropping the first set, 6-0, Pacheco fought back to take the second set, 6-3, before losing the tie breaker 10-4.
