The Broncs would eventually get on the scoreboard in the top half of the seventh inning when freshman Brady Honeycutt (Rosebudd, TX/Rosebudd-Lott H.S.), who was pinch runner for Matt Eichel (Grapevine, TX/Grapevine H.S.), scored on a balk then Ricky Broyles (Longview, TX/Northeast Texas C.C.) would be plated by Zach Smith (Sanger, TX/Sanger H.S.).
Broyles and Zach Gordon (Corpus Christi, TX/Midland College) each collected two of the Broncs' five hits in the game. Eichel also added a base knock.
Bobby Gomez (Falfurrias, TX/Falfurrias H.S.) suffered the loss as he allowed three runs - all earned - on five hits over the course of two innings of action. With the loss, he dropped his record to 1-4 on the season.
