A 10 run sixth inning for New Mexico State led to a 24-5 setback for the Broncs on Sunday afternoon in Las Cruces, N.M at the Presley Askew Field.
With the loss, the Broncs fell to 9-15 on the season while New Mexico State improved to 12-12 overall.
Billy Donaho was the only Bronc to have a multi-hit performance where he went 2-for-4 to go with three RBI's and one run scored.
A.J. Franco took the loss for the Broncs and dropped his overall record to 3-2 on the season after the UTPA freshman tossed 2.0 innings, allowing six runs - all earned - on six hits.
The Broncs five runs in the game came from two homeruns and a passed ball. Chris Lozano went yard in the first inning to left field to give the Broncs an early 1-0 lead while Donaho connected on a three-run homer in the eighth, making the score 23-4. UTPA's fifth run of the game came in the ninth inning following a pass ball by catcher Joe Leghorn which scored Roly Gonzalez, who reached on a fielder's choice.
New Mexico State's exploded in the sixth inning, plating 10 runs on 10 hits, including two homeruns.
Seven Aggies finished with multi-hit performances, including Marcus Quade who finished the game 2-for-4 to go along with four RBI's and two runs scored.
Health Goin recorded the win for the Aggies, pitching 6.0 innings, allowing one run - on four hits while striking out two.
The Broncs will be back in action on Tuesday (Apr. 1) when they take on University of Texas-Arlington in a double-header in Arlington, TX with the first game slated for 3 p.m.
