The University of Texas-Pan American women's basketball program (11-11) dropped a 54-35 road decision to Southland Conference-foe Texas A&M-Corpus Christi this Wednesday (Jan. 28) night at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.
The Lady Broncs started off strong as they held a lead throughout most of the first half, giving it up twice with once at the 10:44 mark and the other with 4:11 left to play.  The Lady Broncs tied the score after a scoreless four minutes at the 6:35 mark on a jumper by Aleeya Grigsby and took the lead after with a bucket from Maria Ben Erlingsdottir.
The Lady Islanders regained the lead for the final time with 4:11 left to play on a layup by Myeisha Myles and lead by three to enter halftime with a score of 23-20.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi took their lead to double-figures in the second and held their largest lead at 19 with 2:17 left to play.
Rachel Hester finished the night with 10 points for the Lady Broncs while adding three steals.  Teammate Teshay Winfrey added another eight along with five rebounds.  Freshman Brittany Demery scored another seven for UTPA along with four boards and one steal.
Myeisha Myles scored 17 points for the Lady Islanders along with six rebounds and two steals.
The Lady Broncs will be back in action this Saturday, Jan. 31 at the UTPA Fieldhouse as they play host to Chicago State with tip-off slated for 7:00 p.m. CT.
