Lady Broncs Drop 100-46 Decision to No. 5 Baylor

The University of Texas-Pan American women's basketball program dropped a 100-46 decision to No. 5 Baylor this Wednesday (Dec. 30) afternoon at the Ferrell Center in Waco, Texas.

Freshman Bianca Torre led the Lady Broncs as she scored 20 points and was the only Lady Bronc in double-figures. Torre also collected two assists, two steals, and one rebound. The Harlingen, Texas native finished 7-of-20 from the field, including 4-of-10 from three-point range.

Rose Esther Jean added eight points for the Lady Broncs along with two rebounds and one steal.

The Lady Broncs reached double-digits at the 9:48 mark in the first half after Marah Guzman was drawn to the free throw line by Baylor's Jordan Madden. Guzman made both her free throws and finished the night with eight points, two assists, and two rebounds.

Baylor finished with four Lady Bears in double-figures with freshman Brittney Griner scoring 17 points, grabbed nine rebounds, rejected the ball eight times, and collected one assist. Morghan Medlock added 16 points and Melissa Jones and Ashley Field scored 13 points apiece.

UTPA will open up the New Year in Stillwater, OK as the women face Oklahoma State on January 2 at the Gallagher-Iba Arena with an 11:00 a.m. tip-off.
