Final Stats

SAN ANTONIO, TX--The University of Texas-Pan American men's basketball program dropped an 84-58 decision to UTSA Monday evening (Dec. 7), at the Convocation Center in San Antonio, Texas.

The Broncs struggled from the beginning, unable to get on track despite taking an early lead on a 3-pt basket by Jared Maree with 18:18 on the clock making it 3-2 in favor of UTPA.

Nick Weiermiller led the Broncs with 13 points, followed by Matt Meirzycki with nine points and Luis Valera with seven points and six rebounds.

For UTSA, Melvin Johnson III had a game high 19 points while going 5-6 from beyond the three-point arc. Morris Smith IV added 15 points to round out UTSA's leading scorers.

The Broncs return to action on Tuesday December15 when they travel to Austin, TX to take on the Texas Longhorns. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 p.m.
