Final Stats
The University of Texas-Pan American women's basketball program suffered an 84-31 loss to Oklahoma State this Saturday (Jan. 2) afternoon at the Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, OK.
The loss puts the Lady Broncs at 2-12 for the season and improves the Cowgirls to 11-2 for the season.
UTPA had no Lady Broncs in double-figures, but high scorers were Marah Guzman and Rose Esther Jean with seven points apiece. Guzman added six boards, one assist, and one steal. Jean collected nine rebounds, a season-high four steals, one block, and one assist.
Oklahoma State went on a 28-0 run before Renee Golliday broke the run with a layup at the 13:01 mark. The Cowgirls held back the Lady Broncs as UTPA was only able to score eight points in the first half compared to Oklahoma State's 53.
UTPA did outscore the Cowgirls in the second half with nine points off of turnovers to Oklahoma State's seven.
Oklahoma State finished with five Cowgirls in double-figures with Andrea Riley scoring a game-high 17 points, Tegan Cunningham finished with 16, Toni Young scored 12, and Precious Robinson and Lakyn Garrison each scored 11 points apiece.
The Lady Broncs return to the UTPA Fieldhouse as they play host to LeTourneau on January 4 with tip-off slated for 7:00 p.m.
