EDINBURG, Texas – The University of Texas-Pan American women's basketball team travels to Norman, Okla. Nov. 26-28 for the Basketball Travelers Invitational (BTI) Tournament hosted by the University of Oklahoma at the Lloyd Noble Center.
First up in the tournament, the Broncs (4-0) will face the Sooners (5-0) Friday in a 7 p.m. contest. The last time UTPA started the season 4-0 was during the 2003-04 campaign.
Great West Conference Player of the Week, Ce'Monay Newell leads UTPA, averaging 18.3 points per game. Sophomore Bianca Torre is averaging 14.5 points per game and went 6-6 from the three-point arc in Monday's 90-68 win over Texas A & M-Kingsville. Adanna Opara is also averaging double figures in the points column for the Broncs with 12 points and is posting 9.3 rebounds per game.
Saturday, UTPA will take on the Panthers of Prairie View A & M (0-2). Tip-off is slated for 5 p.m., and to wrap up the tournament, the Broncs will face the Gardner-Webb Runnin Bulldogs (2-1) Sunday at 2 p.m.
