BRONCS HOST NORTH TEXAS TONIGHT

EDINBURG, Texas – The University of Texas-Pan American women's basketball team is set to host the Mean Green of The University of North Texas tonight at 7 p.m. at the UTPA Fieldhouse.

The Broncs (4-6) enter tonight's contest following six games on the road, most recently at No. 21/24 Texas, where UTPA fell 112-59. Texas-Pan American also recently fell to UT-Arlington and Stephen F. Austin on the road.

UTPA had its best start of the season this year, 4-0 since the 2003-04 campaign. The Broncs also remain undefeated at home this season.

Following Wednesday's contest against Texas, Bianca Torre now leads the Broncs with 17 points per game, followed by Ce'Monay Newell with 16.8 points per game. Torre and Newell currently rank second and third in scoring in the Great West Conference.

North Texas (2-8) broke an eight-game losing streak Wednesday evening at Sam Houston State, where the Mean Green won 75-69. Prior to that, their only other win came against Stephen F. Austin in their first game of the season.

Senior Denetra Kellum leads the Mean Green with 15.8 points per game and 7.2 rebounds per game. Sophomore Jasmine Godbolt currently averages 14.8 points per game and leads the team in rebounding with 8.6 per game.
