EDINBURG, TX--The University of Texas-Pan American athletic department held it's fourth annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday (Feb.13) at the university's ballroom in Edinburg.

This year's Hall of Fame class inductees were: Jim Hickey (baseball), Felipe Leal (baseball), Nancy Mireles (track), Lupe Salinas (baseball) and Fred Taylor (basketball). Dr. Ben Garza (team physician) was inducted into the Hall of Honor.

Coach emeritus, and 2007 HOF inductee, Al Ogletree inducted Jim Hickey, Felipe Leal and Lupe Salinas, all former players under Ogletree.

Nancy Mireles was inducted by her former coach, Doug Erickson. 2009 Hall of Honor inductee and UTPA's sports information director of 30 years inducted Fred Taylor. Richard Flores, another UTPA alumnus who played baseball for the Broncs from 1960-62, inducted Dr. Ben Garza.

"Like past recipients to the Hall of Fame and Hall of Honor classes, this year's inductees exemplify not only exceptional athletic talents, but also the qualities of dedication, honor and perseverance, which have continued to serve them well outside of sports," said Director of Athletics Chris King.
