EDINBURG, Texas – The University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) women's basketball (8-11, 0-1 GWC) team is set to take on the Cougars (9-8, 2-0 GWC) of Chicago State University (CSU) Saturday, Jan. 15 in 2 p.m. contest.
The Broncs are coming off a 68-60 loss to NJIT Wednesday afternoon in their first Great West Conference game of the season. Ce'Monay Newell led the team with 16 points, followed by Donna Jackson with 15 points.
Sophomore guard Bianca Torre leads the team this season with 17.6 points per game and Newell is averaging 16.3 points per game. Erin Lewis is also posting 6.7 assists per game.
Chicago State enters Saturday's contest following two GWC wins 92-64 over Houston Baptist and 79-46 over Utah Valley.
Tressa Beckel leads the Cougars with 18.3 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. Courtney Walden is chipping in 15.6 points and Janey Dockery is averaging 13.5 points per game.
