RUSTON, Louisiana - The University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) baseball team will look to break a six game losing skid on Friday night as the Baseball Broncs begin a three game road series against the Bulldogs of Louisiana Tech University at J.C. Love Field. The set begins Friday evening with 6 pm first pitch and will conclude with a doubleheader on Saturday with game one beginning at 1 pm.
The Broncs (5-6) are coming off a two game sweep at Lamar on March 16th by finals of 8-1 and 6-0 at Vincent Beck Stadium.
Cody Plunk (L, 1-2) took the game one defeat for the Broncs allowing four runs, three earned, on four Cardinal hits in his 4.0 innings of work. Plunk walked four and struck out three.
In game two the Broncs did not score and were held to just three hits by Cardinal pitching. The Broncs had just one runner reach third base in game two.
Luis Flores (L, 0-1) took the loss in first start of the season, allowing three runs, two earned, walking five and striking out three in five innings of work.
The Broncs are led at the plate by Stuart Macinnes who is hitting a team best .371 with one homer and three RBI. Freshman
Colton Van Komen has started th last four games for UTPA and is second on the club with a .294 average also with one homerun and three RBI.

The Broncs will send right-hander
Jonathan Delgado (1-2, 4.30 ERA) to the mound in the first game of the series with the Bulldogs countering with sophomore right hander Trevor Petersen (2-1, 4.64 ERA). In the first-half of Saturday's doubleheader UTPA's senior righty
Cody Plunk (1-12, 4.86 ERA) will face off against Mike Jefferson (1-1, 5.02 ERA). In the final game of the series junior righty Micheal Zouzalik (1-0, 3.09 ERA) will battle against LATech redshirt sophomore Jeb Stefan (2-3), 8.79 ERA.
In the all-time series the Bulldogs have the advanatage with a 34-15 record against the Broncs. The two clubs haven't met since 1998 when the Bulldogs took the first two of a three game series. The Broncs won the last meeting between the two schools 13-2.
