EDINBURG, TEXAS – The University of Texas Pan American baseball team suffered their sixth straight loss after dropping the series finale 5-2 against the Utah Valley University Wolverines Sunday afternoon at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
The Wolverines (23-20, 15-1) got the scoring started in the top of the first with an RBI double by Chris Benson. With the bases loaded, Goose Kallunki hit a sacrifice fly that allowed Cole McWhorter to score from third giving Utah Valley the 2-0 lead.
Vincent Mejia got the Broncs (19-23, 8-12) on the board in the bottom of the second with a solo home run, his third of the season.
In the top of the sixth, Austin Heaps started the inning with a double and then Kallunki followed with a single to left field. One out later, Court Zollinger hit an RBI infield single that allowed Heaps to score from third extending the Wolverines' lead 3-1.
Utah Valley added to their lead in the top of the seventh when Heaps drove in Jason Zundel with an RBI fielder's choice. With runners on the corners, Kallunki hit an RBI single to center field that allowed McWhorter to score pushing UVU's lead 5-1.
The Broncs picked up a run in the bottom of the ninth when a fielding error allowed

Stuart MacInnes giving the Wolverines the 5-2 win and the series sweep.
Blake Krahenbuhl (5-2) picked up the victory after allowing just one run in seven and two-third innings pitched and striking out three.
Zach Zouzalik (3-1) pitched six innings and allowed four runs on six hits.
Texas Pan American next travels to Westbury, NY to face the New York Institute of Technology Bears in a four-game conference series that begins Friday, May 13. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
