OREM, Utah – The third-seeded University of Texas-Pan American volleyball team fell to the second-seeded and host Utah Valley University Wolverines 3-0 in the Great West Conference Tournament Semifinals on Friday at the UVU PE Building.

Diara Reynolds led the Broncs (10-19) with eight kills and four blocks. Nycole Masaki recorded 20 assists and Juri Franzen had 12 digs.

Kalani Norris and Erica Nish each had nine kills to lead the Wolverines (17-8). Brookelyn Hall had a match-high 33 assists and four blocks. Norris and McKenna Tait each had a team-high 11 digs.

The Wolverines scored the first three points and five of the first six to build a 5-1 first set lead. The Wolverines pushed the lead to 8-3, but after a timeout, Reynolds came up with a kill and combined on a block with Haley Durham to bring the Broncs within three. The Wolverines scored the next four points as they pulled away for a 25-12 win.

The second set was tight throughout, with the Broncs staying within three early, and then tying it up at 7-7 on an attack error by Norris. The Wolverines took the lead back, but a little later, a Franzen service ace tied it at 12-12. The Wolverines responded with a 7-1 run to go up 19-13, but the Broncs scored four-straight to pull within two on a kill by Reynolds. That's as close as they got, however, as the Wolverines won 25-20.

The Broncs took the early lead in the third set as a pair of Krysta Freitas kills helped them to go up 5-4. The Wolverines responded with a 14-5 run, thanks in part to three kills by Lauren Stringham, to go ahead 18-10 before winning 25-17.
