CHICAGO, Illinois –
Dusten Knight struck out a career-high 10 batters, but the University of Texas-Pan American Broncs baseball team fell to the Chicago State University Cougars 4-1 in game two of a doubleheader on Friday at Brooks Field.
Knight (3-3) allowed four runs on eight hits and two walks in six innings. The Cougars (6-29, 4-10 GWC) scored all of their runs with one out in the fourth.
Albert Carpen walked and moved to second on a sac bunt.
Jonathan Carpen singled, to put runners on the corners.

Aveeno Nasiloski all hit consecutive RBI-singles to make it 4-0.
That made a winner of
Andrew Wellwerts (1-3), who allowed one run on six hits and six walks while striking out seven in seven innings.
The Broncs (22-12, 9-5 GWC) got their run in the eighth.
Vincent Mejia led off with a single to knock out Wellwerts.
Steven O'Hair came in, and getting the first out, threw a wild pitch, allowing Mejia to move to third.
Chris Torres followed with an RBI-groundout.
The Broncs and Cougars complete this four game series with another doubleheader on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. Both games are scheduled to last nine innings.
The University of Texas-Pan American Department of Intercollegiate Athletics competes at the NCAA Division I classification. UTPA, formerly known as Pan American College and Pan American University, is a part of the University of Texas System of Schools. The Broncs compete in 14 varsity sports; men's and women's basketball, golf, tennis, track and field, and cross country, along with women's volleyball and men's baseball. In 1963, then known as Pan American College, the Broncs men's basketball program won the NAIA National Championship with a 73-62 victory over Western Carolina. In 2008 UTPA joined the new all-sports division of the Great West Conference.
