CHARLOTTE, North Carolina – The University of Texas-Pan American men's tennis team lost 0-4 to the UNC Charlotte 49ers on Thursday at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex, on the fourth day of their road trip.
The 49ers (9-5) grabbed the early advantage. Jordi Massalle Ferrer and Jack Williams defeated
Sebastien Job and
Alejandro Sanoja 8-4 in the No. 1 doubles spot. Charlotte clinched the doubles point as Alex Calcott and Paul Cisti defeated
Ricardo Hopker and
Chetan Panditi 8-4. The No. 3 doubles match went unfinished.
In singles, Ferrer defeated
Ricardo Hopker 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 and then Alex Calott took straight sets from
Alejandro Sanoja, 6-2, 6-3. The 49ers clinched the match after Paul Cisti defeated
Sebastien Job 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4. The No. 1, No. 5 and No. 6 singles matches went unfinished.
The Broncs (4-9) will play their fifth match in as many days as they face Gardner-Webb on Friday at the Webb Tennis Complex at 1:00 p.m.
