COLLEGE STATION – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs men's tennis team closed a six-match road trip with a 1-6 loss to the No. 54 University of Arkansas Razorbacks on Tuesday at George P. Mitchell Tennis Center, on the campus of Texas A&M.
 
The Broncs (4-11) picked up their lone win at No. 1 singles, where Thomas-Orestis Panoulas knocked off Manfred Jeske, 3-6, 6-4 (10-5). It's the second time this season that Panoulas has defeated the No. 1 singles player of a ranked team.
 
The Broncs had a chance to pick up a doubles win as well, as the No. 2 duo of Ricardo Hopker and Chetan Panditi were serving up 7-6 on Christian Lee and Peter Thomason when the Razorbacks (12-8) clinched the point.
 
The Broncs played hard in singles, with tight matches at No. 2, where Hopker fell to Lee 4-6, 5-7, and at No. 3, where Mike Ward needed a tiebreaker to beat Panditi 3-6, 6-4 (10-7).
 
The Razorbacks took the other three singles matches in straight sets.
 
The Broncs kick-off a three-match home stand on Saturday when the play a doubleheader against Incarnate Word, the No. 19 team in Division II, at 9:00 a.m. and Prairie View A&M at 2:30 p.m. at the Orville Cox Tennis Center.
 
The Broncs will host a free Tennis Kids Clinic, presented by Cricket, at 12:30 p.m.
