BEAUMONT – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs men's tennis team dropped a tight Southland Conference match to the Lamar University Cardinals 3-4 on Friday at Municipal Tennis Center.
 
The Broncs (7-15, 1-3 Southland) swept through doubles, as Felix Hasselberg and Sebastien Job beat Rob Lee and Steven McMullan 8-4 at No. 1, Chetan Panditi and Ricardo Hopker defeated Mikko Rajamaki and Bruno Snyder 8-4 at No. 2, and Victor Alves and Thomas-Orestis Panoulas downed Trey Crysel and Carl-Phillip Linqvist 8-5 at No. 3.
 
The Broncs won two singles matches, as Hasselberg beat Rajamaki 6-4, 6-1 at No. 5 and Joseph Bishop defeated Crysel 6-3, 6-3 at No. 6, but the Cardinals (4-14, 2-1 Southland) took the remaining four matches to get the win.
 
The Broncs are back in action on Saturday at 2 p.m. when they play a neutral site match against Alcorn State at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
