Match Notes

EDINBURG – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs volleyball team (5-18, 2-7 WAC) hosts the Utah Valley University Wolverines (9-15, 4-4 WAC) for Halloween Costume Night on Thursday at 7:05 p.m. at the UTPA Fieldhouse.
 
Doors open at 6.

There will be a costume contest for UTPA students only. The winner will receive a 16GB iPod Touch. All wearing costumes, including non-students, can get free popcorn.

The Broncs are also partnering with Be The Match to host a bone marrow drive. Anyone that registers at the volleyball match will recieve free admission. 

Halloween Costume Contest Rules

• Costume contest is only for UTPA students and must have a valid UTPA Student I.D.
• Must register between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. Oct. 30 to be eligible.
• Judging will take place between the second and third sets of the volleyball match.
• First Place will be determined by a panel of judges.
• All participants may be photographed and used in future promotion.
• No messy or sticky substances (wet, dry or oily) are allowed as part of the costume.
• The use of pyrotechnics, including but not limited to: fire, flash powder, explosives,    smoke bombs or fireworks are not allowed as part of the costume contest.
• Costumes with electronic power requirements must be self-contained.
• No live animals other than service animals.
• No real weapons.
• No nuditty is permitted. Persons wearing costumes which are lewd, obsence or  offensive will not be permitted to participate in the Costume Contest or appear on   the court. Whether a costume is lewd, obscene or offensive shall be at sole  discretion of UTPA Athletics Staff.

Individual match tickets can be purchased by contacting David Riggs in the UTPA Athletics box office at (956) 665-3747 or riggsdb@utpa.edu. Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and high school students, and $3 for children 12 and under. UTPA students, faculty and staff get in free with a university ID.
