The Broncs led 3-2 in the first set on kills by Watson and freshman
Kyra Hill in addition to an attack error by
Kalani Norris, but the Wolverines responded with a 10-0 run powered by three Bakker kills and one block, two Norris kills and one ace, and two Treanor kills to run away with the set.
Acuff got the Broncs off to a good start in the second set, with a kill to make it 1-0 and a block with Clark to put the Broncs up 5-4. That's when Reynolds took over, coming up with kills to tie the set at 6-6 and 7-7. She then gave the Broncs a 12-11 lead. Two points later, redshirt junior
Macey Singleton came up with back-to-back aces to put the Broncs up 16-11. The Broncs still led by five at 18-13 on a Watson kill, but the Wolverines came back to tie it at 19-19 on a Bakker kill. Acuff and Durham responded with back-to-back kills to give the Broncs the lead back for good.
The third set featured several runs. The Wolverines jumped out to a 6-2 lead, but after a timeout, three blocks by Acuff powered a 6-1 run to put the Broncs up one and force the Wolverines to call timeout. The Broncs led by as many as two at 11-9 on a Watson kill, but a pair of Treanor kills fueled a 5-0 Wolverines run to make it 14-11. The Wolverines went up as many as five at 21-16 on a Norris kill en route to taking a 2-1 match lead.
The Broncs led early in the fourth set, going up 3-1 on a Reynolds kill before the Wolverines went on an 8-1 run to go up 9-4. The Broncs came back to tie the set at 11-11 and 12-12 on Reynolds kills, but the Wolverines responded with a 9-3 run to push the set out of reach.
