Sophomore
Janari Joesaar led the Broncs (3-2) with his third double-double, scoring a career-high 28 points while hitting a career-high nine baskets in 16 attempts, including a career-high four three-pointers in seven attempts, to go with a 6-for-6 performance from the line, a game-high 11 rebounds, three assists and two steals. Senior
Shaquille Boga scored 16 points with a team-high six assists, two rebounds and two steals. Junior
Shaquille Hines scored 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting with four rebounds, two blocks and one steal. In his first-career start, freshman
Isaiah Hobbs scored a career-high 10 points while going 8-for-12 from the line and adding five rebounds, two assists, one block and three steals.
Jamel Waters led five Hornets (2-2) in double-figures scoring with 14 points, four rebounds, eight assists and three steals.
Wendell Lewis also scored 14 points, doing so with nine rebounds, three assists and three blocks.
Bobby Brown scored 13 points with seven rebounds and three assists.
Luther Page scored 13 points with three rebounds, one block and two steals.
DeMarcus Robinson scored 10 points with four rebounds, two assists and two steals.
The Hornets took an early 10-6 lead, but a layup by Hobbs and a dunk by Hines tied the game. The Hornets followed with a 9-3 run to go up six, but the Broncs went on an 8-0 run to take their first lead when a Hines jumper made it 21-19 with 11:17 remaining in the first half. The Hornets responded by scoring the next nine points as part of a 27-8 run to go up 46-29 eight minutes later.
The Broncs pulled closed early in the second half, getting to within 59-52 on a Boga three, but the Hornets scored the next four points and led by double-figures the rest of the way.
The Broncs are close out the tournament on Saturday at 5 p.m. when they face off against North Dakota.
