Box ScoreWACO – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs women's basketball team fell to the No. 11 Baylor University Bears 96-42 on Wednesday at the Ferrell Center.

Shawnte' Goff paced the Broncs (6-4) with eight points each. Senior
Brittany Bush led way with a game-high 10 rebounds while freshman
Stephanie Onyeje added six points with two assists.
Nina Davis led the Bears (5-1) as she scored 31 points and grabbed four rebounds. Khadijiah Cave added 18 points with six rebounds and Kristina Higgins chipped in 15 points with eight rebounds.
The Bears jumped out to a 6-0 lead before Goff got the Broncs on the board with a jumper with 17:08 left in the first half. The Broncs responded with a 10-5 run that was capped off with a Goff jump shot that gave them the 12-11 lead with 12:15 left in the half.
Baylor then answered with an 18-0 run to push their lead to 29-12 with 7:57 remaining in the half. Preston knocked down a jumper with 1:01 left in the half but the Bears took a 54-22 lead into halftime.
In the second half, a jumper by senior
Tonisha Walker with 18:25 remaining made it 60-24 in favor of the Bears. With 8:39 left in the game, freshman
Stephanie Onyeje hit a three-point shot that cut into the Bears' lead 84-35 but the Bears continued to put pressure on the Broncs as they put the game away.
The Broncs are back in action on Saturday at 2 p.m. when they host the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders at the UTPA Fieldhouse. Doors open at 1.
