EDINBURG – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs men's tennis team picked up their second win of the day after sweeping the Prairie View A&M Panthers 7-0 on Saturday at the Orville Cox Tennis Center.
 
The Broncs (2-2) took the early lead as the duo of Chetan Panditi and Juan Cruz Soria defeated the Panther's (0-3) team of Bruno Snyder and Arasaki Gbadamosi 6-0 in the No. 2 doubles spot. The team of Ricardo Hopker and Mauricio Fosado clinched the doubles point for the Broncs as they beat McAllen-native David Aldaz and Carlos McIntyre 6-2.
 
In singles, Hopker got things going after defeating Arasaki Gbadamosi 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 4 singles spot. Panditi followed with a straight set win over Bruno Snyder 6-0, 6-4 in the No. 2 singles spot. Fosado clinched the match for the Broncs with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Aldaz in the No. 5 singles spot.
 
Team captain Sebastien Job picked up a win in the No. 3 singles spot after defeating Daniel Vasquez 6-0, 1-6, 6-0. Juan Cruz Soria also picked up a win after defeating Jackson Varney 6-5, 6-1 and then Sanoja closed out the sweep of the Panthers with a victory over Carlos McIntyre 2-6, 6-5, 10-4.
 
The Broncs are back in action on Feb. 7 when they hit the road to face No. 63 Arkansas.
