Box ScoreSEATTLE, Wash. – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs men's basketball team fell to the Seattle University Redhawks 70-47 on Thursday at Key Arena.
Sophomore
Janari Joesaar the Broncs (7-11, 1-1 WAC) with 14 points.
Isiah Umipig led the Redhawks (8-8, 1-1 WAC) with 28 points on 10-of-15 shooting, including 7-of-11 from behind the arc.
Jarell Flora scored 16 points on 6-of-14 shooting, including 4-of-7 from behind the arc.
Jack Crook scored 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting.
The Broncs and Redhawks traded baskets early, with the Broncs going up 7-5 on a three by Joesaar. The Redhawks responded with a 15-4 run to go up 20-11 on a Crook jumper with 6:14 remaining in the first half.
The Broncs followed with a run of their own, outscoring the Redhawks 9-2 to pull within 22-20 on a Joesaar layup with 2:58 left.
The Broncs were within 26-23 towards the end of the half when a
William Powell tip-in at the buzzer sparked a 40-9 run as the Redhawks went up 66-32 over the first 12 minutes of the second half to pull away. During the run, the Redhawks went 9-for-10 from behind the arc. The Redhawks finished 11-for-22 from behind the arc.
The Broncs are back in action on Saturday at 9 p.m. when they visit Bakersfield.
