Box ScoreBAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) Broncs men's basketball team fell to the Bakersfield Roadrunners 66-53 on Saturday at Rabobank Arena. 
Freshman 
Dan Kimasa led the Broncs (7-12, 1-2 WAC) with his fourth double-double, scoring 14 points with 10 rebounds and four blocks. Junior 
Shaquille Hines scored 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting with nine rebounds. Sophomore 
Janari Joesaar scored 12 points with seven rebounds. 
Javonte Maynor led the Roadrunners (5-13, 1-2 WAC) with 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting, including 3-of-8 from behind the arc. 
Aly Ahmed scored 14 points with seven rebounds and two blocks. 
Kevin Mays scored 12 points with 11 rebounds and two steals. 
The Broncs led 5-4 in the opening minutes on a layup by freshman 
Isaiah Hobbs and a three by Joesaar. The Roadrunners took the lead on a Mays layup, but the Broncs came back to tie the game at 6-6, 8-8, 10-10 and 13-13. 
Down 17-14, Kimasa hit a layup to bring the Broncs within one, but the Roadrunners responded with a 15-4 run, scoring the last 10 points of that run consecutively, to go up 32-20 on a 
Cortez Conners three-pointer with 5:53 remaining in the first half. 
The Broncs pulled within 34-24 on a pair of Joesaar baskets, but the Roadrunners scored the next seven points to build a 17-point lead. 
The Roadrunners still led by 17 at 48-31 on an 
Abdul Ahmed three six minutes into the second half, but the Broncs outscored the Roadrunners 18-7 over the next 11 minutes to pull within 55-49 on a Hobbs tip-in. 
Down the stretch, however, the Roadrunners hit went 9-for-11 from the line to put the game on ice. 
The Broncs return home on Thursday at 7 p.m. when they host Utah Valley at the UTPA Fieldhouse. The first 75 UTPA students in attendance will receive Broncs drawstring bags.
