Brittany Bush led the Broncs (13-11, 6-3 WAC) with a career-high 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting, plus 5-of-6 from the line, with six rebounds. Senior
Cha'zaye Wright scored a career-high tying 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting, including 3-of-4 from behind the arc, with four rebounds and two steals.
Tyonna Outland led the Roadrunners (17-7, 6-3 WAC) with 21 points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals.
Alyssa Shannon scored 19 points with five assists and two steals.
Erika Williams scored 14 points with six rebounds, five assists, three blocks and two steals.
Brooklynn Hinkens scored 11 points with six rebounds and two steals.
The Roadrunners were red hot out of the gate, going up 15-1 in the first 3:47. The Roadrunners extended their lead to 33-9 on a pair of Hinkens free throws with 9:18 remaining in the first half.
The Roadrunners still led by 24 at 36-12, but Bush hit a pair of free throws, freshman
Stephanie Onyeje made a basket, freshman
Troi Swain nailed a three, and Wright converted a three-point play as the Broncs scored 11-straight points to pull within 13.
The Broncs made it an 11-point game on a Swain layup that made it 38-27 with 5:36 to go, but the Roadrunners closed the half on a 10-3 run to go up 48-30.
Batabe Zempare opened the second half with a jumper to give the Roadrunners their 20-point lead back, but the Broncs scored eight of the next 10 points to pull within 52-38 on a layup by senior
T'Ondria Nolen.
The Broncs pulled within 10 for the first time in the half on a three by Wright at the 12:01 mark that made it 64-54. A little over two minutes later, freshman Weslaco alum
Laura Van Tilburg made a layup to bring the Broncs within nine at 71-62.
The Roadrunners scored the next six points. The Broncs pulled within 11 on multiple occasions after that, but that's as close as they got.
The Broncs are back in action on Saturday at 6 p.m. when they visit Seattle U.
