Box ScoreCOLLEGE STATION – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs baseball team fell to the No. 4 Texas A&M Aggies 4-1 Tuesday night at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
The Aggies (17-0) got on the board in the first inning against Broncs' starter
Parker Gallegos (1-1). Ryne Birk started things off with a single through the right side and then moved to third on a single by Mitchell Nau. Hunter Melton and Nick Banks followed with RBI singles that scored Birk and Nau to give the Aggies the 2-0 lead.
The Broncs (8-4) got on the board in the top of the fourth against Turner Larkins.
Logan Landon recorded a one-out single and then stole second base. After moving to third on a wild pitch, Landon came into score on an RBI sacrifice fly by
Victor Garcia Jr. that made it 2-1 Aggies.
Landon finished the night a perfect 4-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base.
The Aggies answered with a run in the bottom of the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Michael Barash that allowed Logan Taylor, who led off the inning with a walk, to come in and score pushing their lead to 3-1.
The Aggies added a run in the bottom of the seventh to close out the scoring as Andrew Vinson and Mark Ecker pitched a scoreless eighth and ninth innings. Ecker earned his third save of the season.
Gallegos (1-1) took the loss after allowing three runs, two of which were earned, on three hits. Kyle Simonds (1-0) earned the win after pitching two and a third scoreless innings while scattering two hits.
The Broncs and Aggies wrap up their two-game series on Wednesday with the first pitch scheduled for 3:05 p.m.
