FORT WORTH – Senior Logan Landon extended his hitting streak to 15 games but the University of Texas-Pan American Broncs baseball team fell to the No. 1 Texas Christian University Horned Frogs 11-5 on Wednesday at Lupton Stadium.
 
Landon went 2-for-4 with a home run, a run scored and two RBI and now has reached base in all 18 games this season. During his 15-game hitting streak, Landon is batting .527 (29-for-55) and has now recorded 11 multi-hit games.
 
The Horned Frogs (16-2) got on the board in the bottom of the first against freshman Broncs starter Brandon San Nicolas (0-1). After a pair of walks to start the inning, Derek Odell delivered an RBI single that allowed Cody Jones to score. After TCU added a pair of runs on a fielding error and a double steal, Garrett Craig drove in another run with an RBI single to make it 4-0.
 
Landon got the Broncs (10-8) a couple of runs with his two-run home run, his third of the season, in the top of the third inning that cut the Horned Frogs lead to 4-2.
 
TCU added two more runs in the bottom of the third, three in the bottom of the fourth and two more in the bottom of the eighth to push their lead to 11-2.
 
In the top of the ninth, the Broncs added a pair of runs off of Travis Evans. Freshman Michael Harrison reached on a single and then junior Alexis Hernandez followed with a double. With a pair of runners on, senior Lee Rios hit a three-run home run, his first of the season, to cut into TCU's lead but Evans sealed the Horned Frogs victory with the final outs of the game.
 
Tyler Alexander (1-1) picked up the win after pitching seven innings and allowing just two runs on six hits.    
 
The Broncs begin Western Athletic Conference play when they open a three-game series against Sacramento State on Friday at 5 p.m.
