Box ScoreCORPUS CHRISTI – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs men's tennis team closed out its regular season with a 0-4 loss to the No. 57 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders on Sunday at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center.
"We battled better than we did two months ago against Corpus Christi," Broncs head coach
Brandon Stokes said. "We still need to improve to become a more complete team. We are headed in the right direction. It was an amazing regular season. There was tremendous growth by our Broncs. We are motivated and excited heading into the WAC Tournament."
The Broncs (9-12) fell behind early on in the match as the Islanders (17-6) won on courts one and two to clinch the doubles point.
In singles, the Islanders opened with wins on courts two, six and four to close out the match.
Juan Cruz Soria won his first set against 97
th ranked Peter Nagy court one and
Koby Jansen was up a set against Guillaume Rauseo on court three before the matches were stopped once the Islanders clinched the match.
The Broncs are back in action on Saturday at 1 p.m. when they face the University of Missouri-Kansas City Kangaroos in the semifinal round of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament.
