Box ScoreEDINBURG – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs baseball team scored five runs in the second and fourth innings to beat the Utah Valley University Wolverines 11-3 to close out the season in game two of a doubleheader on Saturday at Edinburg Baseball Stadium. 
The Broncs (21-30-1, 6-20-1 WAC) won three of their last four games, including two out of three against the Wolverines (18-33, 14-13 WAC) to clinch their first Western Athletic Conference series victory of the season. 
The Broncs loaded the bases with nobody out in the second. Junior 
Scott Mercer got ahead in the count 3-0. 
Marco Birones (2-2) responded with two called strikes, but Mercer fouled off the next six pitches in a row before lining the 12
th pitch of the at-bat down the left field line for a two-run double. Three of the next four batters, including freshman 
Isaac Gonzalez, senior 
Logan Landon and junior 
Cole Loncar, hit RBI-singles to make it 5-0. 
The Broncs started off the fourth with three-straight singles, the last of which, by senior Edinburg alum 
Lee Rios, drove-in a run. Then, after a hit batsman and a strikeout, sophomore 
Victor Garcia Jr. hit a bases-clearing triple and senior 
Jesus Garcia lifted a sacrifice fly to right to make it 10-0. 
The Wolverines got their lone run against freshman 
Robert Quinonez (3-5) in the fifth when 
Greyson Bogden led off with a home run. 
Quinonez pitched 7.1 innings, striking out seven while inducing three double plays. He allowed eight hits and two walks. 
The Broncs pushed the game back into 10-run territory in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI-single by Rios, who finished with the first four-hit game of his career, going 4-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a run scored. 
Landon also went 4-for-5 to finish the season batting .382 (73-for-191).
