Box ScoreGRAND FORKS, N.D. – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs baseball team fell to the University North Dakota (UND) 2-0 on Saturday at Kraft Memorial Field.
Freshman
Robert Quinonez (2-5) was strong for the Broncs (17-27-1, 2-17-1 WAC), striking out five while allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks in 6.1 innings.
UND (18-21, 12-8 WAC) got both of their runs in the first on RBI-doubles by
Jeff Campbell and
Dalton Leuschke.
That was enough for
Zach Muckenhirn (6-5), who pitched 7.1 innings of shutout ball, scattering five hits and three walks while striking out six.
Campbell recorded the final five outs for his ninth save.
The Broncs' hits were by senior
Jesus Garcia, juniors
Cole Loncar and
Scott Mercer, and freshman
Isaac Gonzalez and McAllen Memorial alum
Manny Loredo.
The Broncs and UND conclude this three-game series on Sunday at 12 p.m.
