Isidro Martinez scored his first-career goal as the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros men's soccer team opened up the Rio Grande Valley Invitational with a 1-1 double overtime draw against the University at Buffalo Bulls on Friday at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
With the Vaqueros (1-0-1) down 1-0 midway through the second half, junior
Alex Ochoa sent the ball ahead to sophomore
Olli Tynkkynen who went back and forth with Martinez before he found the back of the net.
The Bulls (3-0-1) got on the board just over four minutes into the match when
Russell Cicerone scored on a penalty kick to make it 1-0.

Leo Castillo (0-0-1) stood tall from there, making eight saves.

Cameron Hogg (3-0-1) made four saves.
Each team attempted 19 shots, with the Vaqueros attempting all five shots in the second overtime.
The Vaqueros are back in action on Sunday at 7 p.m. when they host IPFW to close out the Rio Grande Valley Invitational. Buffalo will face Houston Baptist at 4:30. Gates open at 3:30.
