AUSTIN – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros men's tennis team did not lose a set as they swept the Concordia University Tornados 7-0 at the River Place Country Club on Friday.
 
The Vaqueros (2-1) swept through doubles as the duo of junior Juan Cruz Soria and sophomore Koby Jansen teamed up for the first time in the dual match season. Soria and Jansen defeated Gabriel Borunda and Jack Proctor 6-3 on court one.
 
The team of sophomore Elliot Johnstone and freshman Yehonatan Kaufman defeated Iosua Malaki and Micah Austin 6-2 on court two while freshmen Harry Wells and Cosme Jubera remained undefeated on the season in doubles after defeating Victor Escalon and Adrian Montes 6-3 on court three.
 
In singles, the Vaqueros continued to roll as they recorded a trio of 6-0, 6-0 wins. Jansen didn't drop a game to Escalon on court two while Kaufman did the same on court five against Austin and Johnstone followed suit against Proctor on court six.
 
Soria defeated Borunda 6-3, 6-2 on court one while sophomore Ethan Ammon defeated Malaki 6-2, 6-1 on court three.
 
It was the first spring dual match in seven years for the Tornados (0-1) after last competing in 2008.
 
The Vaqueros will be back on the court on Sunday when they head to Dallas to face the No. 49 SMU Mustangs.
