EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros baseball team (4-8) kicks off a nine-game home stand with the first of three against the Arlington Baptist College Patriots on Friday at 7 p.m. at UTRGV Baseball Stadium.

It's Pre-Spring Break Safety Night. The focus of the night will be for UTRGV Athletics and the UTRGV Police Department to provide fans with guidelines to staying safe during spring break by answering questions about safe travel, alcohol and tobacco abuse, how to handle an emergency, and how to detect suspicious behavior.

The first 100 fans in attendance will receive a free UTRGV water bottle containing travel size personal hygiene products, courtesy of the Department of Health Services and University Recreation.

Gates open at 6.
