NEW ORLEANS – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros men's tennis team fell 3-4 to the New Orleans Privateers on Tuesday at the University Tennis Center.
 
The Vaqueros (8-9) fell behind early as the Privateers (6-8) took the early advantage after win on doubles courts one and two.
 
UTRGV got a point with a forfeit by the Privateers on court six to tie the match. Sophomore Koby Jansen picked up a straight set 6-2, 7-6 (2) victory over Giacomo Adoncecchi on court two.
 
Sophomore Elliot Johnstone accounted for the other point for the Vaqueros as he picked up a 6-3, 6-4 win over Luis Albuquerque on court four but the Privateers came away with wins on courts one, three and five to clinch the victory.
 
The Vaqueros will close out their spring break trip on Thursday when they face Lipscomb University in New Orleans at 2 p.m.
