Baseball's WAC Opening Series at Northern Colorado Snowed Out

GREELEY, Colo. – Due to Winter Storm Selene dropping 4.7 inches of snow in Greeley and 13.1 inches at Denver International Airport, as well as associated travel delays and power outages, the Western Athletic Conference opening baseball series between the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) and the University of Northern Colorado, originally scheduled for Thursday through Saturday at Jackson Field, has been cancelled.

The series will not be made up.

On Monday, Northern Colorado moved Saturday's game to Friday, creating a doubleheader in an attempt to avoid snow showers scheduled for Saturday. However, when the storm prevented UTRGV from flying to Denver on Wednesday, Thursday's game was postponed until later in the weekend, with the date and time to be determined by the weather.

UTRGV is back in action on Tuesday at 6 p.m. when it visits Incarnate Word. UTRGV is now scheduled to open up WAC play on Friday, April 1 at 7 p.m. when it hosts New Mexico State for the first game of a three-game series at UTRGV Baseball Stadium.
