BROWNSVILLE – The No. 3 University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros men's tennis team fell to the No. 2 New Mexico State Aggies 0-4 in the semifinals of the Western Athletic Conference Tennis Tournament to close out their season on Saturday at the Brownsville Tennis Center.
 
The Vaqueros got off to a good start in doubles as the team of sophomore Koby Jansen and freshman Yehonatan Kaufman picked up a 6-1 win on court one over Liam Goldberg and Strahinja Trecakov but the Aggies, with a default win on court three, clinched the doubles point with a win on court two.
 
In singles, the Aggies added another default win on court six and then won on courts five and two to put the match away.
 
Jansen was up a set on Trecakov on court one and led 4-3 in the second set when his match went unfinished when New Mexico State clinched the match.
 
The Aggies will face the Missouri-Kansas City Kangaroos on Sunday at 1 p.m. for the WAC Championship.
