Men’s Tennis Set to Make Up Rain Out Against Prairie View A&M Saturday

PRAIRIE VIEW – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley men's tennis team is set to face off against Prairie View A&M on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the PVAMU Tennis Courts.
 
This match is to make up the match that was postponed back on January 15 due to rain and unplayable court conditions.
 
Last Time Out
UTRGV's (0-3) fell 1-6 to No. 14 Oklahoma State to close out their week last weekend in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
 
Oklahoma State swept through doubles to grab the early lead and then followed with five straight singles victories to clinch the match.
 
Freshman Clément Sarradin, in his second singles match of his collegiate career, got the lone point of the match for UTRGV as he picked up the 0-6, 6-5, 1-0 win over Mathieu Scaglia on court four.
 
Scouting Prairie View A&M
Prairie View A&M is 0-2 on the season after losses to Rice University and UTSA.
 
Prairie View A&M returns four from last years squad that went 4-20. They return senior Sergio Avella, junior Ulrick Boyogueno, senior Freddy Quintero and junior Anirudh Yadav.
 
Prairie View also has junior Cesar Reyna, who hails from Brownsville, Texas.
 
The All-Time Series
UTRGV is 14-0 against Prairie View A&M all-time a series that dates back to 1986.
 
Both teams faced off last season and it was UTRGV who came away with a 6-0 win in a neutral site match in College Station.
 
Next Up
UTRGV will be back in action on Sunday as they travel to San Antonio to face the University of Texas at San Antonio at 10 a.m. at the UTSA Tennis Center.
