EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley women's basketball team (6-2) looks to get off to a 7-2 start for the first time in program history when it hosts UMass (4-3) in the first round of the Battle on the Border Tournament on Friday at 7 p.m. at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.
Mississippi Valley State faces UTSA in the first game of the day at 4:30 p.m.
Doors open at 3:30.
Traffic Advisory
Due to the city of Edinburg's Annual Night of Lights Parade, which runs from the corner of University Dr. and Sugar Rd. to the Hidalgo County Courthouse Parking lot (Town Square), there will be several road closures around the university from 5-9 p.m. University Dr. and Sugar Rd. will be closed across campus.
Fans will be able to access UTRGV via Schunior Rd. To reach Schunior Rd., fans should proceed one block north of University Dr. on streets west of Sugar Rd. such as Jackson Rd., or streets east of Closner Blvd. such as Expressway 281/Frontage Rd.
