MADISON, Wis. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) women's basketball fell at Wisconsin 82-54 on Wednesday at Kohl Center.
 
Junior Quynne Huggins led UTRGV (9-3) with 15 points. Junior Idil Türk scored 11 points while hitting a trio of three-pointers.
 
Courtney Fredrickson led Wisconsin (6-4) with 18 points with five rebounds. Suzanne Gilreath scored 15 points with five rebounds. Cayla McMorris scored 13 points.
 
UTRGV stayed close throughout the first quarter, as Türk hit a pair of three-pointers to help keep the deficit at 19-12.
 
Wisconsin opened the second quarter on an 11-0 run to go up 18 before UTRGV went on a 13-6 run, capped by a Huggins jumper, to pull within 36-25.
 
UTRGV was still within 11 at 37-26 after a free throw by junior Jameka Dowell with 11 seconds left in the quarter, but Wisconsin followed with a 26-9 run to push the game out of reach.
 
UTRGV is back in action on Dec. 17 at 2 p.m. at Texas Tech.
