SAN ANTONIO – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley men's tennis team is set for their lone match of the week when they face the University of the Incarnate Word on Saturday at the UIW Tennis Courts at 2 p.m.
Last Time Out
UTRGV's (2-8) wrapped up their weekend with a 1-6 loss to Lamar on Sunday in Beaumont.
After Lamar won the doubles point with a pair of wins, they went on to win the first five matches in singles to clinch the win.
Koby Jansen got the lone point on the board for UTRGV as eh defeated Nikita Lis 6-2, 6-4 on court two.
Scouting Incarnate Word
Incarnate Word is 3-6 on the season and is coming off of a 0-4 loss to Trinity on February 18 at home.
Their three wins on the season were against Prairie View A&M, UTSA and St. Mary's.
They have losses to Baylor, Grand Canyon, Louisiana Lafayette, UT Arlington, New Mexico State and Trinity.
The All-Time Series
UTRGV is 3-3 all-time against Incarnate Word in a series that dates back to 2001.
Both of these teams met last season and it was Incarnate Word who came away with the 4-2 victory in San Antonio.
The last time UTRGV defeated Incarnate Word came back in 2015 when they picked up the 4-3 win at the Orville Cox Tennis Center.

UTRGV will return home to host Louisiana Lafayette on Tuesday at the Orville Cox Tennis Center at 2 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
